If I were to hire a web designer/developer in the UK to make me a 12-15 page website, how much it roughly cost? It would be a fairly simplistic design - not to complicated or over-the-top, but something that would allow visitors to obtain information from quickly and easily. Also, if anyone can answer, how much would it roughly cost for:-- Hosting in a typical year- A new automated E-commerce shop built to hold around 20 products, - New logo/banner design.If anyone can answer all these, just in general terms for me to get an idea, then that would be great.
How much would it roughly cost in the UK to have a 12-15 page website designed and developed?
My question has to do with affiliate internet marketing. For years I've used one shared web hosting account and I create multiple add-on domains on it for all my various sites. I know it's not a good idea to have all of your domains on one server because search engines can see they all come from the same IP address if you link the sites and if you're server goes down, all of your sites are down. No site access = no money coming in.I see that several of the top power affiliates get themselves a reseller hosting account so they can create individual websites rather than add-on domains, but they're still all on the same IP address and if the server goes down, all the sites will be down.Reseller hosting is considerably more expensive than shared hosting and I know you can offset the cost by selling accounts and domain names from it, but let's say you don't sell to other people.So what's the advantage of using reseller hosting instead of shared hosting for affiliate marketing?Also, yesterday I was looking at some reseller hosting. I need to do some more research, but tell me if something like this is in the ballpark or too expensive. These are just the high level features, but bascially, anything you can do on a shared hosting account, you can do on this so I certainly wouldn't be losing anything.$17.95/mocPanel25 GB diskspace250 GB data transfer (both of those are far more than I currently use for my 40ish domains)free eNom to sell domain namesSo, why would I want to use a reseller account instead of shared hosting?WARNING: I don't mind hearing about your reseller promotion, but please answer my main question above - what's the advantage? I've been doing this Answers thing long enough to know that if you turn this into a sales pitch, vindictive Yahoo Answers members and competitors will turn you in for commercial solicitation and you'll get your account banned, so promote with caution because people suck. :( So I will say this loud and clear to the Yahoo Answers team, please don't ban anyone. This community is about getting answers and that's what I'm looking for.UPADTE: Thanks, Joe. You made a couple of points that escaped me. You're right about moving domains, so much easier when not dealing with addons. Also, a reseller account would be more stable than shared. ResellerZoom was the one I was looking at. HostGator is more cost effective on a per GB basis, but it's also overkill for what I need at this time.
Why do some affiliates use reseller web hosting instead of shared?
Governor Beshear, Ark Encounter Announce Plans to Build a Full-Scale Noah’s ArkPress Release Date:Wednesday, December 01, 2010Contact Information:Kerri RichardsonJill Midkiff502-564-2611“Ark Encounter” to employ 900, expected to draw 1.6 million visitors in first yearFRANKFORT, Ky.— Governor Steve Beshear today joined the Ark Encounter LLC to announce the planned construction of a full-scale Noah’s Ark tourist attraction in northern Kentucky. Partnering with the Ark Encounter is Answers in Genesis, which is most widely known for its high-tech and popular Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky.“We are excited to join with the Ark Encounter group as it seeks to provide this unique, family-friendly tourist attraction to the Commonwealth,” said Gov. Beshear. “Bringing new jobs to Kentucky is my top priority, and with the estimated 900 jobs this project will create, I am happy about the economic impact this project will have on the Northern Kentucky region.”The Ark Encounter is scheduled to open in spring 2014 in northern Kentucky. Multiple sites are being considered, although property in Grant County off I-75 is at the top of the list. A feasibility study conducted by the renowned America’s Research Group has indicated that the Ark Encounter may attract 1.6 million visitors in the first year and is expected to employ up to 900 full- and part-time staff.The for-profit Ark Encounter project will be privately funded at an estimated cost of $150 million. The final site selection for the Ark Encounter is subject to the ability to acquire all of the land needed for the project, and the approval of certain state and local incentives and other assistance for the project.“We are very pleased to be a part of this new project,” said Ken Ham, president and founder of AiG and the Creation Museum. “AiG has been blessed to see the Creation Museum host over one million guests in three years. Based on our experience and success operating the large, state-of-the-art Creation Museum, our board believes the time is right to partner with the Ark Encounter in building a full-scale Noah's Ark. We hope that this fun and educational complex called the Ark Encounter will become another popular tourist destination for the state.”In addition to the full-size Ark, the complex will include a Walled City much like was found in ancient times, live animal shows, a children’s interactive play area, a replica of the Tower of Babel with exhibits, a 500-seat 5-D special effects theater, an aviary, and a first-century Middle Eastern village. To showcase the “green” construction methods and materials that will be used, the complex will also include a Special Events Area for large gatherings, highlighting some of the Leader in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building techniques used to construct the Ark Encounter.One of the factors in getting the Ark Encounter to launch the Ark project at this time was a November 2009 CBS News survey, which revealed that the remains of Noah’s Ark would be the greatest archaeological discovery of our day. CBS News stated: “CBS’ 60 Minutes news program, in conjunction with Vanity Fair magazine, recently conducted a web survey asking which archaeological discovery people would most want to see made next. The response: Noah’s Ark (43 percent); Atlantis (18 percent); Amelia Earhart’s plane (16 percent); Nixon’s lost tapes (13 percent); and Cleopatra’s barge (5 percent).”The report continued: “Noah’s Ark continues to capture the imagination of the general public, and this interest spans all social, religious and economic segments. The Ark and the flood is one of the few historical events which are well known in the worldwide global circle.” Following the release of the article, the Ark Encounter group became even more convinced about the viability of the project. It will be assembling virtually the same team that designed and built the Creation Museum, and have these same talented staff design a full-scale Noah’s Ark.For information on the Ark Encounter, see www.ArkEncounter.comhttp://www.governor.ky.gov/pressrelease.htm?PostingGUID={415A07EF-4E0F-488A-AC63-62B43F44385F}

I'm going to start a website, but I don't know what web host to start with. Can anyone give me any suggestions? thanks.
What are the top web hosts?
In my website there are over 150 pages, quite a few to handle by one person.Like this page, my website at the top of each page has the page name in bold say for instance "Films" and this:Paint Creations > Films > "film 1"What i am trying to do is to get the "film 1" to display the title of the actual page instead. Because I am now merging web hosts and will for an annoying reason have to redo the titles of each page, which will take forever if I do every page one by one.PLEASE has anyone got any ideas for a HTML code I can just put in and it would change the name shown at the top automatically (depending on the page title)?Thanks-joshua
Help: How to organise 150 web page titles?
Ok so I have this idea for a website! A legitimate idea! But I have never built a website before, so I am looking for some input from the outside world. I am looking to start small with a user friendly host, but I would like to eventually grow it once it (hopefully) gets popular. I would like to, in the future, include things such as ads, etc. I basically don’t want to limit myself. What is a good host to start out with? Is there any that you can start out free and then pay for better packages as you go? What type of web host services would you recommend? I also would like to have a www.example.com type address, not a sub.example.com or a www.example.com/dir/. So basically I would like a top level domain name. Thanks in advance for your input!

As I was lackadaisical in my attitude toward my studies throughout high school my chances of getting into a good university are slim to none. Without diverging on a tangent, issues such as trying to help a struggling friend with his cocaine addiction, family divorce, and mono during my junior year contributed to my rather poor statlist for college applications. Now that I have turned over a new leaf, i feel that I am ready to tackle the challenges of the college environment. However, I fear that my poor track record will prevent me from attending a good school within Texas or elsewere. Eyes set on either A&M or UT, it will be a dream come true if I am granted admission to either school. How badly will my horrible class rank affect my chances?What are my chances to get into both universities?
