The Web Hosting, SEO and Marketing Blog. stay updated via rss .... I have learned C/C++, Java, Perl, and now Ruby all from books and reading other people's code. I have to say this is the best book on programming for a particular language that I have ever read. And I have read quite a few. ASP.NET Hosting Compared to Java Web Hosting
One of the most popular kinds of web hosting is ASP.NET hosting. Is there a good reason that ASP.NET hosting is more popular than Java web hosting, or is it merely a market discrepancy?

Web host that supports java applets and php?
Hi guys, this has had me completely confuzzled. I have a 'webs' hosted website and the editor worked like a charm, then a few days back some of the buttons just stopped responding. Here's a link to the video to see what I mean:http://www.pressonthego.com/2010-08-03_1321.swfI think it might be a certain plug-in that might be causing this. Although I'm not too sure :-S but it's definitely a problem on my PC coz it works perfectly on another PC. It just has me completely befuddled, even webs support can't figure what the hell is going on! Is there anyone here who can solve this mystery? Here's a list of my current plug-ins (firefox) in case it helps:Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U20Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.170.4DivX Web PlayerShockwave for DirectorShockwave FlashBrowserPlus (from Yahoo!) v2.8.1Adobe AcrobatQuickTime Plug-in 7.6.6Java Deployment Toolkit 6.0.200.2Windows Presentation FoundationWindows Live® Photo GalleryYahoo Application State PluginiTunes Application DetectorGoogle UpdateFacebook PluginDivX Player Netscape PlugingetPlusPlus for Adobe 16249Microsoft® Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin
Which of these plug-ins are causing this? Or what is?
Hi - I have an application that is being developed in Java. Server is Tomcat, DB is PostGres. Its on Windows server. Could you help in suggesting some web hosting options? Thanks - Sanjeev
Web Hosting question Want to host (In India) a Java application on tomcat server, PostGres DB. Any pointers?
Hi, I'm 15 years old and I've been programming in PHP, HTML, and Javascript for almost a year. Recently, I learned Adobe Flex (and I'm pretty good at it too), and I want to pair it with a good server side language. However, I absolutely hate PHP, and I never want to use it again. Here's a few reasons:- Dynamically typed, so its almost pointless to use an IDE- Scripting language, so it can't be easily debugged- Sucks for Object Oriented Programming (its actually easier and more maintainable to go procedural)- You have to look at the PHP reference every two minutes because the functions are so poorly named.- Isn't a good learning experience, because it is so wierd compared to other languages like c++ and javaI am interested in Java and C# - what is your opinion on either of theses languages for server side web development? Is there any reason to stick with PHP?BTW, I want something that I can host for free (and not on my own computer).
What are better alternatives to PHP?
Hi, I'm 15 years old, and I think I have a decent amount of experience as a programmer. I've done web programming in HTML, Javascript, PHP, and basic Object Oriented C++. More recently, I learned Adobe Flex, and got an internship making Flex Widgets. I am familiar with Object Oriented Design, and I want to become more proficient with it. I also want to keep on designing websites - what is the best web programming language to learn next?BTW, I absolutely hate PHP, and Java is way too expensive to host. Object Oriented > Procedural and Statically Typed > Dynamically Typed.More Details:- Visual Basic's syntax is beyond weird- C++ is great, but I don't know where to go with it next (I learned the basics, but I never got around to using the win32API)
What programming language should I learn next?
Hi everyone,I have two questions for all of you.First, what do you guys think is the best overall IDE? I like writing Java, XHTML, PHP, Javascript, CSS, C++, JSP, etc.. I would prefer if it had the Java and C++ compilers built-in as tools if possible. It would also be nice if it had syntax hilighting for all of the above.Second, what do you think is the best web hosting company for a developer (not a designer) for things like Tomcat, Apache, phpMyAdmin, and stuff like that? Thanks for your opinions!!!
Best overall IDE and hosting company?

I have tried T35.com and that's about the only one I know that lets you upload files via the Java upload instead of uploading them one by one and it taking forever. Is there any other web hosting websites that I could use to upload multiple files?
Web hosting service that allows you to upload multiple files?
like if someone makes a trojan could they encode it in a way that for the "pPublisher" it says something like Microsoft Corporation? I don't see why it would be impossible, but I don't know so I figured I'd ask. The only reason I'm thinking about this is because I myself recently got rid of a Trojan virus. it was hidden in my Java files apparently. lol and right after I get rid of it they have the nerve to tell me new java updates are available. HA! anyways, I was just wondering.oh, and if you don't know what a Trojan Virus is, think about the Trojan horse and troy. lol Basically, you download something that seems okay, and it hides out until it gets inside your computer. then it attacks. whoever made the virus made it part of the installation, so you're installing a host program that lets whoever made the virus see any and everything on your computer. they even have more complex ones that can turn on like your web cam. Or they can even take control of your computer. It's actually kinda scary, if you think about it. right now some random 46 year old living in his parent's basement could be looking at your files. your personal files. they could be looking at you, your kids, your pets, they can set up key logs so anything you type in while you have the virus is recorded so they get your passwords and such. they really are nasty things.
Can a Virus be disguised very well as something that seems official?
Can someone guide me to a good application web server host. That I can use to put my Facebook application on? I am using Java programming language. To create it but I am having the worst luck with finding a good server... Any suggestions?
