Enom is my registrar but I'm not sure how to renew my domain when I leave my hosting company and they drop my domain. I would like to leave my hosting company as soon as possible but I would like to keep the domain name.

Hi Everyone,Currently, I am deciding on which web design certificate program I should take. I decided to go this route since I have a BS already and I am not interested in going back to school for another 4 years. This will all be based on cost and the timeframe. I noticed some certificate programs can last from 5 months to 1 years. Does it really matter the length of time? I just want to make sure I am getting everything that I need to get started in this field. Can you please let me know if this is a good program. Also, does it matter if this is a non-credit certificate or will that effect me later? I am listing 2 of the same programs but from 2 different institutions (community colleges). I have a couple web design questions. Does a web designer just make the files, give them to the customer, and thats it? Or do they help with getting it set up (if the service does not include hosting or domain name etc)? How much does a 10-50 page website, simple yet attractive, SEO friendly, XHTML and CSS website design generally go for price wise? What are some general expectations of a web designer?

I have a few domains I made in 1995 around when the internet wasn't as popular and it was free to make domains. About a week ago I checked them, just for fun, and they still have the original webpage I put in 1995 when I was just a kid. I also check the whois information for my domains and they still have my first name and my brother’s first name but a different mail address. Back in the day the internet publishing software used the name of the computer and we never put in a mailing address as the owner of the domain and because the computers name was my first name and my brother’s first name (His name is Jesus but its registered as jesse-what he went by) we can’t gain access. Is there anyone out there that knows anything about the laws of grandfathered domains or what I should do to gain access back to my domains? The support of the registrars said that we did not have enough proof that it was our domains but the domains are not even being used by anyone because we own them but can’t get access to them. We are writing a letter to corporate of Dotster.com the registrar that is hosting our domains and trying our best to gain access back to our domains. Besides the letter to dotster I really don’t know what to do. I don’t know what happen when they switched from free domains to domains being worth money. Why do I even still own my domain? I can’t find any helpful information to read on what happen between 1995 and now that helps explain how to gain access to my domain or the grandfathered in law about domain names. The email address registered on my dotster account is an email made by a domain we made in 1995 and now we don’t have access to that email. It was a redirect from itself to a hotmail account from windows 95/98. What do I do? Someone help me please…These people keep giving me the run around. Please email me at virtue.innovations@gmail.com with more information or reply here. I just feel that the little guy is going to get scr**ed again.
How do you gain access to grandfathered web domain you made in the 90's?

being eco friendly and cheep, i would like to host my own web sight "no video or sound" but not have to pay a hosting fee or keep a computer on. i only expect a few hit a day if any. So i was wondering if i could use a USB drive with the page on it and a wireless router with USB? if so, what routers would be best? i was looking at the Asus rt-n16 cause it has 2USBs and is open source. router price does not matter i need new one anyway. i will be paying for "fillintheblank.com" domain name.

Hi,I'm a college student making a little money on the side by working online. I basically have 3 sources of income: 1) placing advertisements on my web sites 2) Selling Domain Names 3) Doing a little freelance work.I'm confused about how and when I need to pay my taxes. I use outright.com to keep track of my finances and according to them you pay taxes quarterly, so next time I need to pay is before January 15th. My earnings for the last couple of months is about $2000. I have a couple of questions:1) Do I pay taxes quarterly or once a year in April?2) I have expenses related to working online, such as buying hosting for my web sites and investing in new domain names, so do I subtract those from my earnings and pay tax for the profit?3) Can I also subtract personal expenses, such as buying a new computer or other electronics? 4) If 3 is yes I might go into negative, what do I do then?5) How do I pay my taxes? Is there a way to do it online, or do I need to send a check somewhere?6) How do I deduct stuff, and where can read more on what's deductible? And another question:If I register a business, will I have to pay less taxes? Thanks for your help!
How, when, and where do I pay my taxes (Self-Employed Student)?
Hello.I have my own web server, and a domain name from domain.com. How do I get it to go to my web server, that I can already access by going to my IP address?domain.com is the domain name provider, not just an example.I figured out how to do it. For those who need to know how, what you need to do is go to "Manage Domains", then click on the domain you want to change the settings for.Under "Other Services", there is something called "DNS Management". There is a link beside it, that either says, "Add Service", or "Manage". If it says "Add Service" then click there, and then follow directions to enable it (it is free). If it says "Manage", then click there. Then scroll down to the "A Record" and enter the subdomain and IP Address. You should do this for www and no subdomain, so people don't have to enter www.Then click on Update. It might take a while to activate.
