I just want my own homepage so that I can put it on my resume, advertise my own computer programming business, to put my resume online and I have always wanted to tried making one cause I read about Dreamweaver, Flash, PHP, HTML, XML,CSS etc so I want to try it. I never really made a web page (embarrassing cause I have Bachelor of Computer Science degree but specialized in Biomedical Computing). At work I was forced to make an online survey using ASP.net and I liked it. I need help in explaining what tools should I use to make a web page like ASP.net vs. HTML, PHP etc. But mainly I want someone to recommend a cheap host for me to try for now. My parents use Easyhosting and I am confused about the pricing like they purchased the domain instead of paying the monthly webhosting plan but I don't what features my parent's webpage includes like if there is CSS and PHP because it doesn't list cost of buying domain and the features included.

I have volunteered to be the web administrator for my partner's sports team's website. It is already being hosted by a company and it up and running (just out of date information on there that needs updating). I only have experience in editing my work's intranet pages... I didn't think intERnet editing would be too different.Anyway, first of all I was only given a user name and password but no clue as to where I needed to enter this! I went back to the previous web admin and asked about software needed and how I could be added as admin for the forum and the answer I got was "The system uses the following - ftp ability, access, db6, asp, html. as far as administering the forum, all I did was delete from the forum access database anything rude or contentious. There wasn’t any administrating. You need to ftp the forum down from the site, delete from the tables and ftp back up again."can someone help me with this? what does this mean? Any help much appreciated. ThanksI just want to be able to update some information that I think I'd easily be able to find in existing code? It's just about getting the dates etc mentioned on there up to date first before I try to add anything new or fancy! :)
